Sometimes it’s hard to appreciate how much your car, home and contents are worth and what to insure them for. But it’s important to get it right, so that you have enough cover to replace your treasured belongings at claim time. That’s why we have some handy insurance calculators to help you work it all out.

From mountain bikes to laptops - our homes are filled with so many things, it’s hard to remember them all, let alone figure out what all our belongings are worth. Sum Insured Pty Ltd’s contents insurance calculator helps you get the right level of cover for your possessions. The calculator works by using your address and the information you provide to offer a suggested replacement cost for your household contents. Once the calculator has provided your estimate, you can check the breakdown room-by-room and make changes, as well as add on valuable items such as an engagement ring or expensive camera equipment.

The amount you insure your home for, or sum insured, should reflect the total cost of rebuilding your home. There’s a lot to consider when calculating this value including building materials, foundations, interiors, outbuildings and your home’s surrounds.

The free Cordell Online Calculator will help you work out an estimated rebuild cost.

Working out the current value of your car isn’t always easy, especially if it’s been a while since you bought it. At AA Insurance we use an independent company that specialises in vehicle valuations to provide an indicative replacement value. When you get a quote with us, simply enter the details of your car and we’ll automatically calculate a replacement value, or agreed value. This is the amount you’ll be paid out if your car is written off or stolen. Remember, if you don’t think the value provided is accurate for your car, you can talk to us about adjusting it.
