In a first for New Zealand general insurers, AA Insurance is delighted to announce it has taken the Pride Pledge.
The Pride Pledge is a values-based commitment the insurer is making to amplify safety, visibility, and inclusion for rainbow communities, both internally and externally.
“As a business, we’re focused on earning trust through the support we provide our customers. The Pride Pledge is about growing awareness and understanding. It’s a natural fit with our commitment to supporting and empowering our people,” says Stephen Grey, Talent Acquisition Consultant at AA Insurance and rAAInbow Employee Action Group Lead.
To date, people leaders at AA Insurance have participated in Pride Pledge training and planning is underway to expand Rainbow learning and resources across the business.
The company’s digital team has worked with rAAInbow to integrate key inclusion elements such as gender expression and inclusive pronouns into planning for upcoming programmes of work.
“I’m delighted to see AA Insurance’s growing commitment and work towards Rainbow inclusion,” says Martin King, Pride Pledge Director.
“We see the Pledge as active and ongoing. Rainbow inclusion isn’t so much a destination as it is about a continuous journey. We’re looking forward to working together so AA Insurance is supported with additional training and practical advice to ensure progress is meaningful.”
AA Insurance joins other organisations pledging to raise Rainbow community awareness, visibility and inclusion, including Fletcher Building, PWC, Southern Cross Healthcare, Auckland Transport, Air New Zealand and Kiwibank.
