Auckland – 1 December 2021 – Charities and organisations important to staff at AA Insurance were surprised with a $70k pre-Christmas donation this year.

Mental Health Foundation of NZ, St John NZ, and Women’s Refuge (Auckland and Waikato) each received a $20k gift from AA Insurance on behalf of its staff.

An additional $5,000 each went to Auckland City Mission and The People’s Project (Hamilton), as AA Insurance’s Make A Difference team was unable to run its annual Christmas collection appeal on-site this year.

“Our annual donations are a meaningful way to give back to our communities, at a time of year when it is most needed,” says Ainslie Malcolm, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, AA Insurance.

“2021 has been another tough year for all, particularly for those where the on-going lockdowns and alert level restrictions have exacerbated pre-existing vulnerabilities,” she says, “or where COVID impacts have been the trigger.

“We hope our people feel a sense of pride in our donation choices this year, as it was through their collective voices that we are able to help build stronger and healthier communities, and in the areas that matter most to them.”
