Be in to Win Competition - Terms and Conditions

Participation in this competition by purchasing and paying for a new car policy including; Comprehensive, Third Party Fire & Theft, Third Party or Comprehensive Classic Car (“Qualifying Policy”) is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions (“Terms”).

Promoter

The promoter of the Be in to Win Prezzy® card (“Prezzy® card”) competition (“Competition”) is AA Insurance Limited (“AA Insurance” or “us”), with its registered office at Level 5, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland.

Competition

1. For every new Qualifying Policy purchased and paid for between 6 January 2025 and 16 March 2025 inclusive (“Competition Period”) with AA Insurance will automatically be entered into one of ten (10) draws to win one (1) of thirty (30) $1,000 Prezzy® Cards (Prize). For the avoidance of doubt, a Prize consists of a single item, one (1) $1,000 Prezzy® Card. 2. One (1) entry is available per qualifying policy regardless of the number of policy holders listed. Policies will be eligible for the weekly draw in which the policy paid, after payment (annual or direct debit instalment) is received by AA Insurance.

3. All valid entries during the Competition Period will be entered into a weekly draw which will be conducted the Wednesday after the last date eligible for that prize draw. As an example, policies which are purchased and are paid in week 1 (between 6 January 2025 – 12 January 2025) will be eligible for the week 1 draw, to be drawn on Wednesday 15 January 2025 (Draw Date). If the draw is unable to be conducted on the Draw Date for any reason, the Promoter shall conduct the Draw at the next practicable date available. Entries will be drawn at random and the first three qualifying entries drawn each week will be deemed a winner of a Prize (Prize Winner).

4. The Prize Winner will be contacted by phone on the number listed on their policy at the time the winner is drawn. If, after making reasonable attempts, AA Insurance cannot contact a Prize Winner by phone within ten (10) working days of the Draw Date, that Prize Winner will no longer be eligible to receive their Prize and their Prize will be redrawn on the same terms and conditions, until a winner is successfully contacted.

5. Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash if the Prize Winners do not wish to or is unable to take up a Prize for any reason whatsoever.

6. Prizes will be mailed via courier to the Prize Winners within 30 days of AA Insurance contacting the Prize Winners by phone.

7. AA Insurance reserves the right to publish the winner’s first name and city on the AA Insurance website.

8. AA Insurance may refuse to award a Prize to a participant who, in AA Insurance’s view, has acted fraudulently or not complied with these Terms or the terms and conditions of their AA Insurance policy.

Eligibility

9. To be eligible for a entry into the competition, you must:

(a) take out a new Qualifying Policy during the Competition Period;

(b) pay the annual premium for the new Qualifying Policy in full or put in place a direct debit agreement and the first payment for the new policy is paid within the Competition Period.

10. You will not be eligible to participate in this Competition if you:

(a) are seeking a quote for, or renewing, a policy that has either expired or been cancelled by us for non-payment (or any other reason that may result in cancellation of your policy) within the three months before the Competition Period or at any time during the Competition Period;

(b) have an existing AA Insurance policy that is cancelled either by you or by us within the three months before the Competition Period or at any time during the Competition Period and a new policy insuring the same car is purchased within the Competition Period; or

(c) take a Qualifying Policy out, and then cancel it either during or within the two-month period following the Competition Period. In this instance, you will either (1) not be eligible to receive a Prezzy® card(s); or (2) if you have already received a Prezzy® card(s), be required to return it/them to us or reimburse us for its/their value.

11. This Competition is available for Qualifying Policies purchased via [aainsurance.co.nz], by calling [0800 AA Insure], or by visiting an AA Centre.

12. The Competition is open to New Zealand residents over 18 years of age only. Employees, contractors and their immediate families (including partners, siblings, grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren), of the following companies, are not eligible for the Competition: AA Insurance Limited, The New Zealand Automobile Association Limited (”NZAA”) and subsidiaries of NZAA; NZAA District Councillors; any company with which the NZAA has a current joint venture arrangement; shareholders and suppliers of AA Insurance; including agencies, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and affiliated providers.

General

13. Application for cover is subject to underwriting acceptance. Only Qualifying Policies underwritten by AA Insurance under the AA Insurance brand are eligible for participation in the Competition.

14. AA Insurance has no control over the internet or mobile telephone communications, networks or lines, bugs, viruses and server problems and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, for any reason.

15. If any event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of AA Insurance which prevents AA Insurance from complying with these Terms, AA Insurance will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.

16. AA Insurance reserves the right to modify these Terms at its reasonable discretion and to extend, modify, postpone or cancel the Competition at any time for any reason beyond our reasonable control. Any extension, modification, postponement or cancellation of the Competition will be notified on aainsurance.co.nz/beintowin. AA Insurance’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

17. AA Insurance, its related companies, and agencies associated with this Competition, will not be liable for any loss, claim, cost, expense, liability or injury (“Loss”) suffered by any person in any way associated with the Competition including as a result of participation in the Competition or use of a Prezzy® card, except where such Loss cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, limit or modify any statutory rights any person may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

18. Policy cover with AA Insurance is subject to standard underwriting conditions. Policy conditions apply on any insurance claim and an excess usually applies. Click here for full policy terms and conditions.

19. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand Courts.

Privacy

20. By taking part in this Competition and taking out a new policy with AA Insurance, AA Insurance will collect your personal information and the personal information of any joint policyholder. Your personal information will be held by us in accordance with our privacy policy which can be accessed online here. By taking part in this Competition you consent to AA Insurance using your personal information for future marketing purposes, unless you otherwise advise us.
