What does NHC cover?

The Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake (NHC)* covers damage to your home caused by natural hazards such as earthquakes, volcanic activity, tsunamis, landslides and geothermal activity, as well as fire resulting from any of these. It also covers damage to your land caused by a natural hazard, storm or flood. The maximum cover through the NHC for your building is $345,000 (incl GST). Your Home or Landlord Insurance Policy will top up this amount, up to your sum insured, if you need more cover than this.
