At AA Insurance we care, we help, and we get things sorted.
Last year we worked towards AA Insurance achieving the Domestic Violence Free (DVFREE) Tick), to ensure we can support our staff experiencing domestic violence in their homes. This included the implementation of the Support Network of Volunteers and the appointment of, and specialised training for, 15 staff whom form that network. Additionally, almost 90% of all AA Insurance leaders received training to appropriately support staff alongside these volunteers.
Because of this focused work, we are proud to announce that AA Insurance has been accredited the DVFREE Tick from Shine, a leading New Zealand specialist domestic abuse service provider.
The DVFREE Tick is a mark of confidence that an employer has taken meaningful steps to create a domestic violence free workplace. In other words, a workplace that is safe and supportive for staff experiencing domestic violence and one that does not tolerate staff using work time or resources to perpetrate domestic abuse. It further formalises our commitment to our people and activity set within our Wellbeing framework.
This external recognition, for the way AA Insurance truly backs up its promise to be there for our people, is not easily attained and puts us in a minority of organisations that are serious about helping others, including being vocal and visible about our stance against domestic violence.
